Our mission

Since 1964, we’ve been working to provide safe and responsible hair loss treatments.

Today, we’re led by Dr Mario Terri (MBBS) who is a specialist in hair loss treatments.

Under Dr. Terri (MBBS) we’ve adopted our “Complete Care” system which takes a holistic approach, combining hair loss treatments to address the many causes of hair thinning.

Key dates

1964

A&M opens it doors

Ashley & Martin’s first clinic is launched in Melbourne, Australia.

1986

Glower Hair Care opens in Singapore

Providing trichology and hair care services.

1994

A&M introduces hair loss drugs

Medicated topical solutions provided by Ashley & Martin prove to be effective stimulating hair growth and slowing hair loss.

1990’s

Hair loss tablets become available

Antiandrogen and hormone blockers are introduced to reduce the production of the hormones that cause balding such as dihydrotestosterone (DHT).

2000’s

A&M offers Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)

LLLT devices, were introduced as non-invasive treatments for hair loss. These devices emit low-level lasers or light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to stimulate hair follicles and promote hair growth.

2004

A&M expands to New Zealand

A&M opened in Auckland, bringing complete care hair loss treatments to New Zealand, with additional clinics later opened in Hamilton, Christchurch & Wellington.

2010’s

Hair transplants improved

While still not a permanent hair loss solution, Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) hair transplants gained popularity. It involves extracting individual hair follicles from the donor area and transplanting them to the recipient area, leaving minimal scarring compared to FUT.

2011

A&M expands to Singapore

A&M purchased Glower Hair Care (Singapore’s premier provider of natural hair care treatments) and brought the medical complete care treatment option to Singapore

2013

A&M recognised as a Superbrand

Awarded Superbrand status in Australia in 2013 Superbrands Awards.

2014

A&M launches R&D division

Image Review Concepts created as our research and development division, investing in improving and finding new treatment options

2017

A&M Introduces Virtual Consultations

A&M offers video consultations for regional patients.

2017

Independent study shows A&M’s approach is the most effective for treating hair loss

The Journal of Drugs in Dermatology groundbreaking study, “New Insight into the Pathophysiology of Hair Loss Triggers a Paradigm Shift in the Treatment Approach” showed how combining different hair loss treatments, as is the practice at Ashley & Martin, delivered better hair regrowth results than relying on any single treatment.

2018

A&M launches ‘Turning Point’ campaign

Changing the narrative around hair loss discussion in Australia & New Zealand.

2021

Topical DHT Blockers introduced

A&M begins Australian trials with topical DHT blockers which are released for general use in 2022.

2023

LaserPro Plus registered treatment device.

The Image Review Concepts designed & manufactured low level laser device for the treatment of hair loss achieves significant milestone of registration with the Therapeutic Goods Administration
